Terms & Conditions
Private 121 Training/Behaviour
By making a 121 booking you acknowledge that you have read, understood and fully accept the terms and conditions as detailed below:
Bookings:
Where stated, training or behaviour assessments and appointments will only be booked once Happy Buddies has received the completed Private Training or Behaviour Questionnaire which will be emailed to the client/guardian after the initial discussion or email contact. Please return this document by email to info@happy-buddies.co.uk. There may be occasions where this questionnaire is not required (for example if you are booking a 121 Puppy School course).
We may request that a full veterinary health check be undertaken before proceeding with any training. This will be advised if this is the case. If this is requested and refused, we will be unable to help you any further.
The date(s) and time(s) of your Training or Behavioural Initial Assessment or appointment, plus any follow up appointments will be agreed and confirmed by email.
It is the client/guardian’s responsibility to ensure they are available on the correct date, time and place for the appointment(s) as per the confirmation email. If you fail to attend the agreed appointments, the costs will still apply and no refund will be given.

Mileage charges are applicable if you are located more than 15 miles from Reigate RH2 8DT; this charge is 50p per mile.
If we are unable to park at your home, there may be a small charge added to cover parking expenses. Please advise us if there are likely to be any issues with parking prior to your appointment (i.e. parking charges, visitor permits required, limited parking available near to you home etc). If we have not been advised of any issues and parking is an issue when we arrive, the time taken to park will be included as part of your appointment time.
During the consultation/follow up appointment:
Any children present (under the age of 18) are welcome but must be under the supervision of a responsible adult throughout any appointment. Please note it may not be suitable for children to be present during some discussions that may need to take place. It is important that at least one adult is able to give their full attention to the discussion throughout. We accept no responsibility for children, this is solely down to the supervising adult.
The safety of clients and their pets is of paramount importance during the consultation and/or follow up appointment/s. By making a booking, you are accepting that participating in an activity with animals, children and adults, both in private and in public, poses a risk of injury to yourself and your pet and you agree to indemnify Happy Buddies against any and all losses, liabilities, judgements, awards and costs (including legal fees and expenses) arising out of, or related to, any claim of injury to persons or property of any kind, whether before, during or after any appointment and whilst implementing the suggested techniques with your dog. You also agree to make any person (adult or child) who accompanies you during the appointments aware that they are also there at their own risk.
You agree, understand and accept that your dog and its behaviour remains entirely your responsibility at all times, whether in the presence of the trainer or not.
Happy Buddies reserves the right to refuse to enter any property or engage in any training or behaviour work if the pre-visit requirements (which, if necessary, will be detailed in the confirmation email) have not been adhered to (for example, a request for a dog to be kept on a lead or in another room on arrival or throughout the consultation must be adhered to).
The following items are NOT PERMITTED in Happy Buddies Dog Training sessions under any circumstances: choker chains and/or check chains of any description; electronic training collars including citronella; any other device that causes discomfort, pain or fear to the puppy/dog; prong or pinch collars; slip leads; any equipment that the trainer deems unacceptable. The use of physical force, shouting, rough handling or any other type of punishment-based training or behaviour modification techniques will not used. Happy Buddies uses modern, reward-based and ethical behaviour modification and training techniques.
Refunds and cancellations:
If an assessment or appointment is cancelled by Happy Buddies due to circumstances outside of Happy Buddies’ control, for example (but not limited to) illness, extreme weather or a problem on route - for example (but not limited to) snow, flooding, fire, car break down, traffic incidents/road closures that cause significant delay or other circumstances that adversely affect attendance by Happy Buddies - you will be contacted as soon as possible and we will make every effort to reschedule your appointment to another mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, the cost of the session will be refunded to you and any follow up appointments which are also cancelled as a result.
Please ensure you have provided your mobile number to Happy Buddies as any cancellation/postponement will be advised of by phone/text message in the first instance.
If you need to cancel or postpone a Training or Behavioural Initial Assessment this can be rearranged or refunded in full if at least 2 weeks’ notice is provided. If you cancel between 2 and 1 weeks’ of the assessment a refund will be given, less the non-refundable deposit of £50. If less than 1 weeks’ notice is provided, a refund will be given, less the non-refundable deposit of £50 plus any deduction for time given on preparation for the assessment.
If you need to cancel or postpone a single training or behavioural appointment/package, refunds and rearrangement fees are as follows:

If you have signed up to a 121 Puppy School, SuperPup or Canine College Course only 1 session may be postponed if required, otherwise non-attendance will mean forfeiting that particular session (as would be the case for group sessions). This does not apply if Happy Buddies needs to postpone the session.
All other cancellations, postponements and refund requests are at the discretion of Happy Buddies and are dependent on individual circumstances.
